Our baby and child first aid courses are perfect for new and expecting parents. Our course will empower you with life-saving first aid skills and knowledge - so you can help your little one with confidence.

    What will I learn?

    • First Aid Basics: Learn the essential skills to handle emergency situations confidently.
    • Choking: Understand how to respond quickly and effectively when a child is choking.
    • Respiratory Distress: Gain knowledge on how to recognise and manage respiratory distress in children.
    • Managing Illness: Learn techniques to care for a sick child and recognise when professional help is needed.
    • Managing Injury: Discover how to properly assess and treat injuries to minimise discomfort and prevent complications.
    • Allergies & Anaphylaxis: Learn to identify and react promptly to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
    • Bites, Stings, and Poisons: Understand the steps to take when a child has been bitten or stung, or has ingested poison.
    • Q+A Session: Get answers to your specific questions and concerns about child safety and first aid.

    What are the course times?

    We will generally hold two courses in one day. One in the morning from 9am-1pm, and a second in the afternoon from 2pm-6pm.

    How many people will be in my course?

    Join our public courses alongside other expecting or new parents. Here's a quick overview of the maximum capacity for each location:

    • Melbourne, Sydney: 62 attendees
    • Geelong, Canberra, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Perth: 48 attendees each
    • Brisbane: 60 attendees
    • Adelaide, Hobart, Launceston: 32 attendees each
    • Townsville: 30 attendees

    Can I bring my baby?

    We know time away from your little one, particularly newborns, can be tough. Unfortunately, venue restrictions prevent us from welcoming children at our courses. If finding care is a challenge, we encourage you to explore our in-home or online courses, designed to fit seamlessly into your family life.

    If you have a little one, or have one in your life, I would strongly recommend that you take this course. I have done first aid through work many times, but I have learnt, and gained so much confidence from Tiny Hearts.
